“Acting in cinema the definition is devoted by the performance. Theater also is a different type of devotion. It is for this reason that you conform yourself into the situation at hand, there is no additional preparation that is needed. For example; when preparing for a role in cinema you are given approximately two months of time to prepare, it could take a whole day to shoot a single scene; you also have the opportunity to discuss the scene with both the director and screen play writer. Then you do your utmost to get yourself into character. The viewers then show their appreciation by coming to the cinema, paying for admission, and watching the film. This is not like sitting at home and watching a series on the television....."
"The same holds true for theater, but the difference between the two is that the performance is live, you must be able to connect directly with the viewer, you should be able to see their reaction, and in theater errs can also be absorbed more effectively. This is the difference between cinema and theater in my opinion. However, the performance on stage is also different. Performing a role in cinema in a more natural state is something that is wanted, however in theater this may not be viewed in the same perspective on stage. The natural affect that you are trying to give on stage is sometimes lost in the translation. Whereas in cinema a more natural performance is required. A project requires this as well. What I am trying to say is; performing in theater is more a tight fitting mold in my opinion. Where are in cinema you have a larger mold, for example when performing Shakespeare in cinema versus theater there is a difference in the characterization of the performance, a more natural performance in cinema versus on the stage the performance is more natural yet a more serious performance..."
